Mediation Process

In the State of Florida, the law allows for individuals and companies to seek mediation as an alternative to resolve property claims that have been denied by insurance companies. This option is available for:

  • Residential Property
  • Commercial Property
  • Sinkhole Neutral Evaluationproperty damage

Mediation is an informal process that can help you resolve your claims dispute with an insurance carrier without having to file a lawsuit.  During mediation, you will sit down with a representative from the insurance company and a neutral third party mediator.  The mediator is licensed by the State’s Department of Financial Services (DFS) who will work with both parties to obtain a satisfactory claim settlement.  Having a public adjustor represent your interests during this process will provide you information and knowledge you need to achieve a favorable outcome.

It is important to note that mediation and sinkhole neutral evaluations are non-binding.  The insured and the insurance company have the right to reject the results of the mediation conference.

If you have a sinkhole claim dispute, our sinkhole Neutral Evaluation program will provide a neutral third party professional to review the findings of the insurer.
